Launch event on Tuesday, 31 March at Vignaioli Piemontesi in Castagnito

On Tuesday, 31 March at 9:30 a.m., Vignaioli Piemontesi will host the official launch of DEVIN0 at its headquarters in Castagnito, in the province of Cuneo. DEVIN0 is a new Italy–France cross-border project focused on innovation and training in the wine sector.

The event will be the first public presentation of the project, bringing together researchers, training providers and businesses to discuss some of the main issues shaping the future of wine: climate change, evolving consumer habits and new challenges in international markets.

DEVIN0 – Wine Dealcoholisation Down to 0% Alcohol is a three-year project funded by the Interreg VI-A France–Italy ALCOTRA Programme, with a total budget of €1.36 million.

The project aims to help the wine sector develop and adopt dealcoholisation technologies through research and training activities for professionals and students.

Apro Formazione is the lead partner of DEVIN0. It coordinates the project and its partners and provides specialised training. The partnership also includes the Council for Agricultural Research and Economics (CREA), Vignaioli Piemontesi SCA and the Centre de Recherche et d’Expérimentation sur le Vin Rosé. These specialised partners will test partial and total dealcoholisation techniques on wines made from selected grape varieties.

Climate change is affecting grape ripening and the final characteristics of wines. At the same time, changing consumer habits and market trends are creating demand for new and more flexible solutions. Dealcoholisation down to 0% alcohol could help wineries diversify their products and respond to these new needs. DEVIN0 aims to explore this opportunity through research, experimentation and training.

During the event on the 31st of March, the project partners and experts involved will present DEVIN0’s objectives, activities and next steps, giving participants a clear overview of the main topics covered by the project.

The presentations will focus on market trends and changing consumer habits, the effects of climate change on the wine sector, regulations, dealcoholisation methods and the experimental approaches used in the project. Particular attention will be given to research and testing on Piedmontese grape varieties, including analytical tools and the practical implications for wineries.

The event will bring together scientific research, education and training, and the wine industry to discuss the future of wine and explore new opportunities for local wineries.

Participation is free of charge. Registration is available through the form in the Events section of the Vignaioli Piemontesi website. For further information and bookings, please call 0173 210 311 or email info@vignaioli.it.
